Indian Railways Latest Job Vacancy for Women: Union Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal today announced a major announcement. He tweeted that 50 percent of more than 9,000 vacancies for the posts of constables and sub-inspectors in the Railways would be reserved for women. Indian Railways will issue vacancy soon for recruitment to railway police. 50% of these vacancies will be recruited on the vacancy. That means that women will get jobs on 4500 vacancies out of 9000 vacancies issued by Railways.
Indian Railways recruitment announcement for 4 lakh people
In January 2019 Indian Railways announced the decision to provide employment to more than four lakh people by 2021. Along with this, the declaration of recruitment for the economically weaker sections was started soon after 10% quota. In announcing in January, Piyush Goyal had said that at present, Indian Railways has an approved number of 15.06 lakh employees, out of which 12.23 lakh employees are on roll whereas the remaining 2.82 lakh posts are vacant.

Piyush Goyal had said at that time that last year we had started recruitment process for more than 1.51 lakh posts. 1.31 lakh posts were vacant and in the next two years, about 99,000 posts will work as 53,000 and 46,000 railway employees.
2.3 lakh posts to be filled in the next two years
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal had announced in January that recruitment for 2.3 lakh posts would be completed in the next two years. The first phase of recruitment of 1.31 lakh posts will be started in February-March 2019, according to the reservation policy of the government. Approximately 19715, 9857 and 35485 vacancies will be reserved for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes. Indian Railways will announce these vacancies and recruitment soon.
